Why a disposable camera for a bachelorette, bachelor or stag and doe

A group of eight on a night out does not need a shared album. It needs a camera nobody can check, a roll nobody can edit, and a reveal at brunch. Kept gives everyone their own roll and holds every frame back until the morning, so the night is lived first and reviewed later.

For a stag and doe or a Jack and Jill with a hundred ticket holders, it is the same camera at a bigger scale. Put the code on the tickets and the tables and let the room shoot. If you sell tickets through Vowesta’s stag and doe tools, the same team built both.

Where to put the code

  • The group chat, the morning of. One link joins everyone.
  • For a stag and doe: printed on the ticket, on each table, and beside the bar.
  • A card taped inside the party bus or by the door of the Airbnb.

From running it

  • Create the roll before anyone has had a drink. It takes a minute sober and considerably longer later.
  • Tell the group the roll develops at brunch. It changes how people shoot when they know the reveal is shared.
  • Anyone with a real name they would rather not use can type any name. It appears beside their photos and nowhere else.
  • Shots upload in the background, so a bar with no signal is fine. They catch up when the phone finds wifi.

Questions

Can someone delete a photo they regret?
No. There is no deleting a shot once it is taken, for anyone, including the host. That is the disposable camera contract. What the host can do is decide who is on the roll before the night starts.
Do we need to pay for a small party?
No. Kept is free for up to 5 guests. A group of six or more picks the 10-guest tier at $1.29 once.
Is the roll private?
Yes. Only people who joined the roll can see it once it develops, and the six-character code is the only way in. Kept never makes rolls public.
Do guests need to download an app to use Kept?
No. Guests scan the QR code, type a name, and the camera opens. On an iPhone it launches as an App Clip, a small temporary version of the app that needs no App Store download. On Android and everything else it runs in the browser.
Can the host see the photos before everyone else?
No. Before a roll develops the server does not send photo addresses to anyone, including the host and the person who took the picture. The host can choose to develop the roll early, which opens it for everyone at once.
How much does Kept cost?
Free for up to 5 guests. Larger films are a one-time price for the event, from $1.29 for 10 guests to $69.99 for unlimited guests. Nothing renews. An Unlimited Shots add-on for $6.99 removes the 36-frame cap for everyone on the roll.

Give everyone a camera. Take away the screen.

Free for your first 5 guests. Your first roll takes about a minute to set up, and nobody has to install anything.
