Why a disposable camera for a corporate event

The reasons Kept works at a wedding work at an offsite. Nobody wants to install an app for a two-day event. Nobody wants a live feed on the second screen. And the photos that matter afterwards are the ones from the back of the room, not the stage.

It also removes the awkward part of company photography, which is asking people to send their photos in. Every frame is already uploaded when the event ends, and every attendee can save the developed roll themselves.

Where to put the code

  • The badge, or the back of the lanyard card.
  • A slide at the opening session, held for thirty seconds.
  • Table cards at dinner and a card by the coffee.

From running it

  • Say once from the stage that nothing is visible until it develops. People shoot more freely when they know there is no live feed.
  • For a multi-day event, one roll per day gives a morning reveal each day. Or one roll for the whole event, developed at the closing session.
  • Attendees type any display name. No company email, no sign-in, nothing to provision or deprovision.
  • Photos are stored encrypted on AWS S3 in us-east-1. See the privacy page for the full retention schedule.

What it costs

One payment for the event, by how many guests can join. Free for up to 5 guests. Capacity only goes up, so start with the number you expect and add on the night if more arrive.

Questions

Does Kept need IT approval or an app rollout?
No. Guests scan a QR code and the camera opens as an App Clip on iPhone or in the browser on other phones. There is nothing to deploy and no accounts to manage.
Is there per-seat or subscription pricing for companies?
No. Kept is a one-time price per event by attendee count. Unlimited attendees is $69.99 once. Nothing renews.
Can we get an invoice?
Purchases at kept.film go through Stripe, which issues a receipt by email. Write to hello@kept.film if you need a formal invoice.
Do guests need to download an app to use Kept?
No. Guests scan the QR code, type a name, and the camera opens. On an iPhone it launches as an App Clip, a small temporary version of the app that needs no App Store download. On Android and everything else it runs in the browser.
Can the host see the photos before everyone else?
No. Before a roll develops the server does not send photo addresses to anyone, including the host and the person who took the picture. The host can choose to develop the roll early, which opens it for everyone at once.
How much does Kept cost?
Free for up to 5 guests. Larger films are a one-time price for the event, from $1.29 for 10 guests to $69.99 for unlimited guests. Nothing renews. An Unlimited Shots add-on for $6.99 removes the 36-frame cap for everyone on the roll.

Give everyone a camera. Take away the screen.

Free for your first 5 guests. Your first roll takes about a minute to set up, and nobody has to install anything.
