What Dispo is

Dispo’s App Store listing puts it plainly: “Photos develop every day at 9am, making the process of seeing your photos magical.” It is an iPhone app (iOS 18 or later) with retro disposable filters, a feed, and paid Max tiers. The camera is yours. The develop time is fixed by the app. The photos are your photos.

Using it for an event

You can hand your phone around at a party with Dispo open, and people do. What you cannot do, on Dispo’s official pages as of the date below, is create an event roll that two hundred guests join from a QR code without installing Dispo and making an account, with a develop time you choose. Dispo is not positioned for weddings or events, and we found no QR join or event pricing on its site or listing.

Questions

Can I use Dispo for my wedding?
You can take your own photos with it. Dispo's official pages, as of the date on this page, do not describe an event mode where guests join by QR code without the app. For that, use an event disposable camera app such as Kept or POV.
Does Kept have retro filters like Dispo?
No. Kept uses the phone camera as it is. The disposable feel comes from the constraints: a fixed roll, no preview, no deleting, and a delayed reveal.
Do guests need to download an app to use Kept?
No. Guests scan the QR code, type a name, and the camera opens. On an iPhone it launches as an App Clip, a small temporary version of the app that needs no App Store download. On Android and everything else it runs in the browser.
Can the host see the photos before everyone else?
No. Before a roll develops the server does not send photo addresses to anyone, including the host and the person who took the picture. The host can choose to develop the roll early, which opens it for everyone at once.
How much does Kept cost?
Free for up to 5 guests. Larger films are a one-time price for the event, from $1.29 for 10 guests to $69.99 for unlimited guests. Nothing renews. An Unlimited Shots add-on for $6.99 removes the 36-frame cap for everyone on the roll.
